My Jiu-Jitsu journey started essentially when I was born. I was born into a family of fighters, my family owns an academy in Rockville Maryland called Yamasaki academy. By the time I was 1 years old I was practically crawling around the mats. By the age of three I started training and competing locally. When I was 7 I competed in my first ever Pan Ams tournament and won, from that moment on I never looked back. Right now I am 18 and a purple belt. I am actively competing and training everyday.
What I like most about Jiu-Jitsu is how it helps me relax and take my mind off things. It's funny I say that because when people think Jiu-Jitsu, they think that it's just people beating each other up. But it's so much more than that. When I hear Jiu-Jitsu I hear family, friendships, hard work, respect, and dedication and that's why I love this sport so much.
I've been competing constantly all my life. I am a 4 time Pan-American champion, and 14x pan am medalist, I am a world championship 3rd place medalist, and multiple time ibjjf champion. My goal one day is to become multiple time world champion at black belt.
A fun fact about me: I'm currently enrolled in college studying kinesiology. My hope for the future is to get my certification and degrees for athletic training and physical therapy to open up a multi functional Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy.
