Hyperfly gis are worth the hype. It’s an easy 5 stars for the quality. The waistband and drawstrings on the pants are amazing, and the gi top is much softer than a normal gi. This gi, despite being my heaviest gi, dries a lot faster than all of my other gis too when hung to dry. I’ve already gotten a few complaints for the gi being hard to grip. That being said, the gi did take nearly two weeks to ship, and there was some confusing interaction with Hyperfly customer service.

Amazing gi

This gi is beautiful and I love training in it. I have three of these Gis now

Solid and Reliable

I enjoy this gi, the heavy material makes it harder for opponents to get grips and the cut makes it easy to pull your own lapel out for attacking. Little but shorter in torso for my build but overall a great gi.

Judofly X Quattro Sunset

If Carhartt made a kimono, it would be a Judofly. Heed the warning about sizing, the gi will hardly shrink even if you hot wash and dry! Shout out to Nate Mendelsohn for the recommendation! Ossss!

Mixed Feelings at First

I weigh 260 and compete with the big guys. My bigger teammates and I consistently talk about grips and holding onto lapels. Because of that I did a lot of research on heavy/high GSM Gi's and came across the X Quattro Sunset. It is a 750 GSM Gi. When it first arrived, I was super hesitant to use it and not send it back right away because it was not as heavy nor was the lapel as thick/stiff as I thought it would be. I should add that I used to powerlift and I am told by my teammates that my grip is significantly stronger than most of my teammates. I asked a bunch of teammates and they all said it would be difficult for them to hold onto because the weave is 'rough' even though it is a comfortable material. As for the lapel was more of an issue than I thought it would initially. I decided to use it for class and I was pleasantly surprised at how hard it was for people to onto my Gi and how easy it was for me to break their grip. It is going to be my competition Gi for sure. I can't give it 5 stars due to my initial hesitancy, but absolutely 4 stars. I also recommend it to anyone looking for a Gi that wants to make grip an issue for opponents.
