Is it competition legal?
Yes — 100% IBJJF competition legal in white, black, and royal blue. Always check event rules for color requirements.
Will it shrink?
The Hyperlyte is NOT pre-shrunk. Always wash cold and hang dry to minimize shrinkage. Avoid hot water and high-heat drying.
How does it compare to the Starlyte?
The Starlyte is lighter but training-only. The Hyperlyte uses pearl-weave cotton and is competition legal — the better choice if you plan to compete.
Can I add patches?
Absolutely. The back panel is completely open and unsewn — maximum space for team patches, sponsors, or custom embroidery.

- Cold or Warm Wash RecommendedGi is not pre-shrunk but has very minimal shrinkage. Cold or warm water recommended to preserve the Star Weave structure.
- Very Low Shrink RateThe Starlyte has a very low shrink rate and can be tumble dried with minimal shrinkage. Air drying is still preferred to extend fabric life.
- Do Not Iron the JacketThe diamond texture can be permanently flattened by heat.
- Check the DrawstringFlat drawstring can loosen during rolls. Re-tie before each session, or replace with a round drawstring.
- No BleachUse mild sport detergent only.
Is it competition legal?
No. The Starlyte is not approved for IBJJF competition due to its non-standard Star Weave fabric. Training use only.
Will it shrink?
Very low shrink rate but NOT pre-shrunk. Always wash cold and hang dry. Avoid tumble drying entirely.
What is the fit of this Gi like?
The Starlyte has a relaxed fit, with adjustable drawstrings on the pants to tighten them.
How does Star Weave feel to roll in?
The textured diamond surface makes grips harder to hold. It absorbs sweat like a standard gi and doesn't feel wet against the skin.

What is HyperHeat technology?
A silver mylar lining in the shoulder panels and jacket skirt. Reflects body heat between matches to keep muscles warm, dissipates heat efficiently during activity. Exclusive to the ProComp 4.
ProComp 4 vs ProComp Lyte?
ProComp 4 is the premium competition gi with HyperHeat, EVA collar, and one-piece jacket at 450gsm. ProComp Lyte is lighter with tapered ripstop pants — better for athletes training 4–6x per week.
Will it shrink?
Yes. NOT pre-shrunk with a regular shrink rate. Always wash cold and hang dry. Factor in some size reduction after first few washes.
How should I size?
Slimmest cut in Hyperfly's range. Athletes switching from other brands often go one size up. If at the top of your usual size, size up or choose an L variant.

- Hang Dry — Allow Extra TimeAt 650gsm, drying takes longer especially in humid climates.
- Expect Loose Threads After First WashNormal with heavyweight construction — simply trim with scissors. Does not affect durability.
- Do Not IronHigh heat can damage the dense 650gsm weave structure.
- Store Completely DryHeavy fabric retains moisture longer — always ensure fully dry before storing.
Will it shrink to fit?
No — very low shrink rate. Do not rely on washing to shrink it down. Buy the correct size and size down if at the bottom of your normal range.
Does the heavy gi really help with grip breaking?
Yes — consistently confirmed by customers and high-level athletes. The 650gsm surface is rough and rigid enough that opponents struggle to maintain secure grips on sleeves and collar.
Is it suitable for beginners?
Best suited for experienced grapplers. Beginners may find the weight takes adjustment. Most are better served starting with the Hyperlyte or Starlyte.
Can I wear it in hot weather?
The JudoFly is warm by nature. Best suited for cold or cool climates. For hot-weather training, the Starlyte or Hyperlyte are significantly better choices.

Does it need a break-in period?
No — the 380gsm pearl weave is buttery smooth from the very first session. Comfortable immediately out of the bag.
Icon VI vs Hyperlyte?
Both are 380gsm, and IBJJF legal. The Icon VI features a very minimal, clean design, a slightly more fitted cut than the Hyperlyte, as well as a bungee cord drawstring rather than the flat drawstring from the Hyperlyte.
What is the bungee drawstring?
A plastisol-dipped bungee cord with a 6-point loop anchoring system that stays tied reliably through intense rolling.
Good for beginners?
Absolutely. Comfortable immediately, true-to-size, competition legal, and built to last years — an excellent first premium gi.
