Frequently Asked Questions
Most Hyperfly adult gis are IBJJF and UAEJJF competition legal, including the Hyperlyte 3.5, ProComp Lyte, and Icon VI. The Starlyte III and GeneralFly Canvas are not IBJJF legal due to weave type. Each product page clearly states competition legality.
The Starlyte III is Hyperfly's lightest adult gi at 275gsm Star weave. It weighs approximately 2.8 lbs at size A0 and is designed specifically for hot gyms, travel, and athletes who prioritize minimal weight.
Hyperfly gis are not pre-shrunk and will shrink if machine dried. Sizes run true to the label when washed cold and hang dried. If you are between sizes or tend to run large, size up. The ProComp series runs slimmer than other Hyperfly gis — if you're normally an A1, try an A1L.
Both are IBJJF legal competition gis at 380gsm, but they differ in cut. The Hyperlyte 3.5 uses a standard cut with a comfortable, relaxed fit. The ProComp Lyte is slim-cut and tailored, designed for competitors who want a closer fit with less fabric for opponents to grip.
Adult gis do not include a belt. Belts are sold separately in theAccessories collection.
