Giraffes kill Lions. The nickname “The Giraffe” comes from Haisam’s coach Yuki Ishikawa. He initially thought the name was because of his height, but the real reasoning is that Giraffes are humble, but deadly when provoked. Haisam did some research and fell in love with Giraffes in the process. It matches his personality perfectly, humble but killer on the mats.
Haisam was born on July 25th 1993 in Accra, Ghana and grew up in a small town in Accra called Madina. He moved to Japan during the summer of 2009 at age 15, where he went to high school and started training jiu-jitsu.
He moved to America to join Assembly Jiu-Jitsu in Detroit and is now making a name for himself in the US competition scene.
His game is to always put on exciting performances for the fans and compete as much as possible. He wants to see how far he can go and inspire the next generation, especially the youth in Africa.
The flags on the rash guard have special meaning to him:
🇬🇭 where he’s from (humble beginnings)
🇯🇵 where he was raised, trained and learned valuable lessons and skills in life
🇺🇸 where he’s living the dream and showcasing his skills to the world
By purchasing this product, you are directly supporting Haisam's athletic career. Profits of this product will be evenly split between Haisam and Hyperfly.
